Project Accountant – Atyrau, Kazakhstan

About the role

Wood is seeking a Project Accountant to support its energy and materials projects in Atyrau, Kazakhstan. You will be responsible for accurate financial reporting, billing, and cost monitoring for project activities.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain full accounting for project activities and ensure monthly financial results are reported accurately and on time.
• Bill reimbursable activities to the client according to contract terms and monitor client payments.
• Produce monthly management reports with detailed operational and financial information for senior management.
• Maintain and monitor cost code structures to ensure accurate cost and revenue reporting.
• Review financial data, make revenue and cost accrual entries, and ensure true representation of operational activity.
• Review and analyse project overheads and liaise with project controls personnel and managers.
• Perform various ad‑hoc duties as required.

Required profile

• Higher education in finance or a related field.
• Minimum three years of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Strong commercial knowledge and ability to work with project controls and managers.
• People supervision and management skills.

Required skills

• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP or financial systems such as Oracle, Hyperion, 1C, Excel Gep Smart, PowerBi.
