Senior Manager, Department of Student Recruitment (Almaty)

About the role

Nazarbayev University is looking for a Senior Manager for its Department of Student Recruitment in Almaty. The role plans, implements and coordinates recruitment and marketing activities across Kazakhstan and Central Asia to attract prospective students for the University's Foundation Year, bachelor's, Zero Year of Master's, master's and doctoral programmes.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, implement and coordinate recruitment and marketing activities for the University's academic programmes in Kazakhstan and Central Asian countries
• Engage with university divisions, government bodies, international partners and educational organisations to carry out recruitment
• Organise the Division's participation in domestic and international educational fairs and represent the University to prospective students
• Help develop, approve and monitor recruitment and marketing plans for the University's Schools
• Assist in events organised by academic and administrative divisions and help maintain recruitment sections on the University's website
• Support the Division's budget planning and prepare proposals to improve recruitment effectiveness and business processes
• Work with the student/candidate database and submit proposals to the Division Head
• Fulfil assignments from the Division Head and University management, comply with laws and internal documents, protect confidential information and hand over documentation on resignation

Required profile

• Higher professional education, preferably in an English-taught institution; a Master's degree is desirable
• At least five years of relevant experience, or at least three years with a Master's degree
• Knowledge of Kazakhstan's education legislation and fluency in English, Kazakh and Russian
• Basic knowledge of marketing and public relations

• High proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Canva
