Manager, Connected Tax Compliance Team (Almaty/Astana)

About the role

PwC's tax services advise clients on tax planning, compliance and strategy. As a manager in the Connected Tax Compliance team, you will lead accounting and tax compliance projects for multinational and local clients, working alongside junior team members and supporting clients through tax and accounting tasks such as taxpayer registration, bookkeeping, tax returns and statutory reports, and tax audits.

Key responsibilities

• Lead accounting and tax compliance projects, including monthly accounting and year-end closing
• Manage statistical and National Bank reporting, tax accounting policies, tax calculations and reviews (except payroll)
• Handle tax provisions, cash forecasts, tax notifications (breakdowns, reconciliations) and de-registrations
• Supervise and coach junior team members and follow established procedures
• Communicate daily with clients and the team, and improve processes and automate routine tasks
• Take part in developing digital products for clients and in marketing and promotional activities

Required profile

• Experience managing full accounting closing and preparing CIT, VAT and WHT returns with limited supervision
• Project management experience: allocating work, reviewing juniors' work, monitoring project status, meeting deadlines and communicating with clients
• Ability to multitask and prioritise
• Strong English reading, speaking and writing skills
• Experience in a Big 4 or other consulting firm is a plus

Required skills

• Confident use of MS Excel and 1C:Enterprise 8.3
• SAP or another ERP system
