Lead Engineer – SME LDAR

About the role

The Lead Engineer SME LDAR will oversee environmental compliance and methane emission management at the Tengiz oil field. The role involves performing inspections, managing data, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform environmental compliance inspections using air monitoring equipment and data collectors.
• Supervise and conduct methane emission management inspections, monitoring and testing.
• Carry out Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) inspections with a flame ionization detector (FID).
• Manage the project methane measurement database in line with OMGP2 requirements.
• Maintain identification of LDAR components, piping and instrument diagrams.
• Generate maintenance work orders and keep accurate monitoring records.
• Prepare and submit periodic reports and perform optical gas imaging inspections.
• Participate in weekly compliance and safety meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Oil & Gas, Mechanical, Electrical or Environmental Engineering.
• Proficiency in English and Russian (speaking and writing).
• Experience with risk management and mitigation strategies.
• Ability to read P&IDs and other plant plot diagrams.
