Art Teacher

About the role

SABIS International School in Astana is looking for an Art Teacher within its Teaching & Academics department. The teacher ensures students' success by implementing the SABIS curriculum and philosophy and using the SABIS teaching methods. The school is part of a global network present in 21 countries.

Key responsibilities

• Teach classes using the provided lesson plans (and develop them from pacing charts where needed) so that the SABIS point system can be used in the classroom.
• Mark exams according to the schedule and materials provided by the department.
• Implement the SABIS Point System to create a conducive learning environment.
• Proctor exams and manage a proper test environment.
• Support low-performing students through guidance and motivation.
• Help prepare students for external exams by reviewing past papers according to the revision schedule.
• Aid with duties such as testing students, substituting for absent teachers, organizing students for lunch and buses, and other administrative tasks assigned by school management.
• Take part in activity plans for events such as art, open houses and physical education, in coordination with the Student Life Coordinator.
• Attend training sessions when requested by school management and carry out other tasks delegated by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Education or its equivalent.
• At least 3 years of teaching experience.
• Preferred: Expert, Researcher or Master classification.
• English proficiency.
• Professional behaviour, ethics, accountability, excellent communication skills and a commitment to continuous learning.
