Android Engineer

About the role

indrive is hiring an Android Engineer in Kazakhstan for its business platform team. The team builds internal user communications, including advertising and marketing messages, and personalizes the app interface and widgets according to user needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Android apps with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on feature design, system architecture and A/B experiments.
• Identify and fix bugs, performance bottlenecks, offline-storage and threading issues using Android Studio Profilers and network-debugging tools such as Charles, Proxyman and Network Inspector.
• Ensure code quality through unit tests and pull-request practices following community guidelines.
• Take part in sprint planning and task decomposition, keeping Google Play requirements in mind.

Required profile

• 4+ years of commercial Android development.
• Strong grasp of the Android SDK, Kotlin and Jetpack (Compose, WorkManager).
• Experience with offline storage and modern concurrency (Coroutines).
• Base knowledge in computer science and Git proficiency (branches, PRs, reviewing code).
• Understanding of Clean Architecture and common patterns such as MVVM/MVI, applied in practice.

Required skills

• Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, WorkManager, Retrofit/OkHttp, DataStore, Coroutines.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and network debugging.
