Senior Business Tax Advisor

About the role

The Senior Business Tax Advisor will lead tax advisory projects, conduct in‑depth analyses, and deliver practical solutions for clients operating in Kazakhstan. This position requires strong research, communication, and a solid understanding of local tax regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough and accurate analyses of tax information and client data.
• Research urgent tax matters, including responses to tax authority letters and other reliable platforms.
• Develop practical and creative solutions to complex client tax situations.
• Provide recommendations, implement plans, and make quality decisions in complex areas.
• Prepare memorandums, client correspondence, tax opinion letters, engagement reports, objections, and appeals to tax authorities and Kazakh courts.
• Deliver tax advisory services to EY inter‑offices.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Tax, or Law.
• Advanced level of English.
• Strong writing, research, analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of Kazakhstan taxation.
• Experience in Big 4 (3 years) or industry (5 years) in a similar role.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced professional services environment.
• High motivation, positive attitude, and team‑player mindset.

Required skills

• Familiarity with 1C ERP system.
• Experience with other ERP platforms.
