Senior Accountant – Kazakhstan

About the role

Glovo is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its Accounting team in Kazakhstan. You will be responsible for the month‑end closing of multiple international entities, ensuring compliance with Group Accounting Policies and local regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and complete the month‑end closing process for assigned entities, delivering accurate financial statements on time.
• Prepare and supervise monthly accruals and statutory accounting books.
• Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits and address any discrepancies.
• Review income statements and balance sheets, escalating issues to management when needed.
• Conduct regular general ledger audits and ensure adherence to GAAP/IFRS.
• Drive automation and standardisation initiatives to improve reporting efficiency.
• Guide junior accountants and interns, providing coaching and quality checks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business Administration, Accounting or related field.
• 3‑5 years of accounting experience in a multinational environment.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS reporting standards.
• Experience with VAT, WHT and Corporate Income Tax compliance.
• CPA certification is a plus.
