Senior Associate – M&A

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Associate to join our M&A team in Almaty/Astana. You will work across the full transaction lifecycle, from preparing marketing materials to supporting deal execution and client relationship management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare teasers, information memoranda, and management presentations for deal pitches.
• Develop and maintain financial models for equity valuation in M&A and capital‑raising transactions.
• Conduct industry, company, and product research across multiple sectors.
• Perform preliminary investment analysis on cross‑industry opportunities.
• Assist with end‑to‑end deal execution, coordinating internal and external stakeholders.
• Liaise with clients, maintain relationships, and develop links with PwC global network teams.
• Supervise and coach junior colleagues.

Required profile

• University degree in a business field with a GPA of at least 3.5/4.0.
• 2–3 years of experience in M&A, corporate finance, valuation, or investment banking.
• Proven involvement in executed M&A or capital‑markets transactions.
• Strong financial modelling and valuation skills across sectors.
• CFA or ACCA candidacy or membership is an advantage.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Russian.

Required skills

• Proficient use of Microsoft Excel.
• Proficient use of Microsoft PowerPoint.
• Experience with transaction databases (a plus).
