Senior Associate – M&A (Almaty/Astana)

About the role

PwC is seeking a Senior Associate to join its M&A team in Almaty (with coverage for Astana). The role involves supporting the full transaction lifecycle, from marketing material preparation to deal execution and client relationship management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare teasers, information memoranda, and management presentations for deal pitches.
• Develop and maintain financial models for equity valuation in M&A and capital‑raising transactions.
• Conduct industry, company, and product research across multiple sectors.
• Perform preliminary investment analysis on cross‑industry opportunities.
• Assist in end‑to‑end deal execution, coordinating internal and external stakeholders.
• Liaise with clients, maintain relationships, and collaborate with PwC global network teams.
• Supervise and coach junior colleagues.

Required profile

• University degree in a business field with a GPA of at least 3.5/4.0.
• 2‑3 years of experience in M&A, corporate finance, valuation, or investment banking.
• Proven involvement in executed M&A or capital‑markets transactions.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem‑structuring, and judgment in ambiguous situations.
• High ethical standards, integrity, and professional conduct.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Proficient PowerPoint usage.
• Experience with transaction databases (plus).
• Strong financial modelling and valuation capabilities.
