Russian Teacher

About the role

SABIS International School in Astana is looking for a Russian teacher within its Teaching & Academics department. The teacher supports student success and academic achievement through the SABIS curriculum and philosophy and the SABIS teaching methodology.

Key responsibilities

• Teach using the provided lesson plans (and develop them from pacing charts where needed) so that the SABIS point system can be used in class.
• Mark exams according to the schedule and materials provided by the department.
• Implement the SABIS point system to create a conducive learning environment.
• Support low-performing students and help them reach their potential.
• Prepare for and follow external exam preparation using past papers, as planned in the revision schedule.
• Invigilate exams and discuss disciplinary and performance issues with the Academic Quality Controller and head of department.
• Help with activities such as art, open house and physical education, and attend training sessions requested by school management.
• Carry out other duties delegated by the school, such as testing children, substituting for absent teachers, organizing lunch and bus runs, and traffic control.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related subject, or equivalent.
• Native Russian speaker.
• At least 3 years of teaching experience.
• Expert, Researcher or Master teaching qualification is required.
• Ability to work within a team and good communication skills.
• Meets country and local education and certification requirements, and passes reference and criminal background checks.
