Manager / Senior Manager – Accounting Advisory Services

About the role

PwC is seeking a Manager or Senior Manager to join its Accounting Advisory Services team in Almaty. You will provide strategic guidance on technical accounting, financial reporting, transaction structures and capital‑markets topics, helping clients navigate complex deals and transformational events.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate projects for external clients, managing a team of consultants.
• Deliver accounting advisory services including IFRS conversions, new IFRS standard applications, policy recommendations, transaction accounting, post‑deal valuation and carve‑out financial statements.
• Conduct accounting transformation assessments, document client processes and propose best‑practice improvements.
• Support government accounting initiatives such as cash‑to‑accrual transitions under IPSAS and framework development (optional).
• Provide structuring services for acquisitions, divestments, IPOs, capital projects, reorganisations, financial restructurings and strategic alliances.
• Assist financial‑services clients with treasury accounting, covering IAS 39 derivatives, hedge accounting and IFRS 9 credit‑impairment implementation.

Required profile

• Higher education in Finance or Accounting.
• ACCA certification.
• More than 5 years of financial reporting experience, preferably in a Big 4 environment.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, including recent standards.
• Excellent report‑writing skills in English and Russian.
• Focused, disciplined, with solid project‑management abilities.
• Business‑development experience is a plus.
• Willingness to travel to neighbouring countries.
