KYC Operations Analyst

About the role

The KYC Operations Analyst supports Citi Kazakhstan’s compliance function by participating in anti‑money‑laundering monitoring, governance and regulatory reporting. This entry‑level position works closely with Relationship Management and Compliance teams to build and maintain accurate Know Your Customer records.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Relationship Management and Compliance teams to prepare, develop, conduct due diligence and obtain approval for electronic KYC records and supporting appendices.
• Create and maintain KYC records by gathering information from internal and external sources such as firm and regulatory websites.
• Update system information throughout the KYC workflow, from initiation to approval, and report progress to supervisors.
• Validate the completeness and accuracy of KYC records and Customer Identification Program (CIP) documents.
• Ensure KYC records reflect local regulatory requirements and Global Business Support Unit (BSU) standards.
• Maintain the BSU tool and related documentation.
• Assess risk in business decisions, uphold Citi’s reputation, and escalate control issues in line with policies and regulations.

Required profile

• University degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Economics or Law.
• Very good proficiency in English and Russian; Kazakh is a plus.
• Banking or finance work experience is an asset.
• Familiarity with KYC, AML and client due‑diligence regulations is an asset.
• High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail.
• Analytical thinking and advanced communication skills.

• Advanced user of MS Office.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Access.
