Chief Accountant

About the role

1Fit is an IT company that promotes a healthy lifestyle through sport. We are looking for a proactive Chief Accountant to take full responsibility for the company’s accounting and tax functions, ensuring compliance and supporting our growth.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full cycle of accounting and tax reporting for the company.
• Prepare and submit accounting, tax and statistical reports on time.
• Ensure accounting practices comply with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
• Organise and continuously improve accounting processes.
• Handle tax accounting, including the application of Astana Hub tax benefits.
• Oversee foreign economic activities and settlements with non‑resident partners.
• Liaise with auditors, tax authorities and other state bodies.
• Control financial discipline, minimise tax risks and advise management on accounting and tax matters.
• Monitor legislative changes and implement necessary adjustments.
• Lead the accounting team, allocate tasks and ensure quality of work.

Required profile

• Higher education in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Professional qualifications such as CAP/CIPA, ACCA, DipIFR or a Kazakh auditor certificate are preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience as a chief accountant or deputy chief accountant.
• Proven experience with full‑cycle accounting and tax in a company engaged in foreign economic activity.
• Experience with audits by Big‑Four firms and with companies operating under the Astana Hub special tax regime.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of the Kazakhstan Tax Code.
• Expertise in corporate profit tax, personal income tax, VAT, social tax and withholding tax for non‑residents.
• Hands‑on experience with FNO reporting (forms 100, 101.04, 200, 300) and statistical reporting.
• Practical application of double‑tax‑avoidance treaties and transfer‑pricing rules.
• Understanding of Astana Hub participant status confirmation and related tax exemptions.
