Accountant – Finance Team (Kazakhstan)

About the role

Join a small, high‑impact finance team supporting accounting and tax activities for Caterpillar operations in Kazakhstan. You will maintain accurate financial records, support month‑end close, and help drive process improvements while collaborating with internal stakeholders and external advisors.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records and accounting transactions in compliance with GAAP and organizational standards.
• Support monthly close activities, reconciliations, and reporting processes to ensure timely and accurate financial results.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including HR, and external partners to support day‑to‑day accounting operations.
• Assist with tax‑related activities, including VAT and statutory accounting requirements in Kazakhstan.
• Create and maintain financial reports for internal and external use and analyse reporting discrepancies.
• Drive process optimisation and support transition of accounting activities from external providers to in‑house teams.
• Provide support across regional entities, including financial statement reviews and special finance projects.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of experience in an accountant or similar accounting position.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent professional experience.
• Formal accounting qualifications and strong understanding of core accounting principles.
• Experience supporting statutory accounting and tax‑related activities, including VAT in Kazakhstan.
• Working knowledge of SAP and 1C accounting software.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with high accuracy and attention to detail.
