About the role

The company is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to provide high‑level legal support to its business units and senior management. The role involves managing litigation, ensuring compliance with Kazakh legislation, and representing the company in various legal forums.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver professional legal advice and consultations to internal departments and top management.
• Draft and file lawsuits, motions, replies, and other court and legal documents.
• Represent and protect the company's interests in courts, arbitration proceedings, government agencies, and negotiations with third parties.
• Provide legal support during state inspections, investigations, and other regulatory oversight activities.
• Monitor changes in the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan, assess related legal risks, and advise business units accordingly.
• Coordinate with external legal consultants, attorneys, notaries, bailiffs, and other relevant stakeholders.

Required profile

• Higher legal education (law degree).
• Minimum 8 years of professional legal experience, preferably in the oil‑and‑gas sector or litigation.
• Strong knowledge of Kazakh legislation and hands‑on experience in court proceedings and dispute resolution.
• Excellent ability to prepare legal documents, analyze complex information, and resolve intricate legal issues.
• Capacity to work independently and effectively in a multicultural environment.
• English proficiency at Upper‑Intermediate level or higher.
