SmartPlant Administrator – Electrical & Mechanical Design Support

About the role

Wood (trading locally as WOOD KSS LLP) is seeking a SmartPlant Administrator to provide design and technical support for electrical, mechanical, and piping systems in Kazakhstan. The role involves creating and maintaining 3D models, ensuring compliance with safety codes, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design and technical support for layout, design, and specification of electrical, CSA, mechanical, and piping systems.
• Draft equipment systems in SmartPlant 3D (SP3D) and integrate with SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) and SmartPlant Electrical (SPEL).
• Review project documents, flowsheets, and P&IDs for scope, presentation, and technical accuracy.
• Update general arrangement drawings with the latest vendor data.
• Manage project man‑hour budgets and ensure timely delivery of 3D models and drawing packages.
• Induct and supervise designers on Wood standards and procedures.
• Perform inter‑discipline drawing checks and coordinate drawing packages.
• Process vendor data and monitor site error/rectification reports.

Required profile

• Higher technical education.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in design and drafting of electrical/mechanical/piping systems.
• Kazakhstan passport holder.
