Senior Accountant

About the role

Parker Wellbore, which provides land and offshore drilling services, rental tools and well services to oil and gas operators, is looking for a Senior Accountant in Atyrau. The role supports the Accounting Department in financial analysis, accurate financial statements, account reconciliation and financial reporting projects, and works closely with the Finance Manager (Site Controller).

Key responsibilities

• Help prepare annual budgets, monthly forecasts and monthly reporting packages.
• Prepare financial summaries, analytical reviews and variance analysis against budgets and forecasts.
• Support the preparation of AFE forms and work orders for repairs, purchases and modifications to property, plant and equipment, maintain reports on open AFEs and forecast closed ones.
• Process month-end, quarter-end and year-end balance sheets and journal entries according to local accounting standards.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and identify key variances in the local accounting system.
• Coordinate with regional finance staff, interact with auditors and help collect supporting documents for internal and external audits.
• Take part in annual physical inventories and other duties assigned by the Finance Manager.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• At least 7 years of work experience.
• CPA certification preferred.
• Ability to work in a team, independently and with little supervision.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Typing 40+ WPM on a 10-key keyboard.
• Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel and good PC skills.
• Proficiency with data upload processes.
• Preferred: 3-5 years of experience at international companies, English at upper-intermediate level, Oracle.
