Payroll accountant

About the role

To ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, calculation of taxes, social contributions, and other employee‑related payments in compliance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the company's internal policies. The role involves processing monthly payroll for company employees and handling related accounting tasks.

Key responsibilities

• Process monthly payroll for company employees, including vacation pay, sick leave, compensation and other benefits.
• Calculate additional payments for combining positions, temporary replacement duties and alimony deductions.
• Maintain vacation accrual reserves and record payroll‑related accounting entries.
• Calculate payroll taxes, statutory deductions and ensure timely payment of mandatory taxes, pension, social contributions and health insurance.
• Reconcile payroll liabilities with statutory authorities and prepare payroll registers and reports.
• Provide payroll data for financial reporting, budgeting and support internal/external audits.
• Respond to employee inquiries, prepare salary certificates and ensure compliance with Kazakh labor, tax and pension legislation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Payroll Accountant, preferably processing payroll for 100+ employees.
• Experience in an international company is considered an advantage.

Required skills

• Experience with 1C accounting software.
• Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
