Operations Associate, Volunteer Lifecycle Management

About the role

The Operations Associate supports end‑to‑end volunteer lifecycle services for the UN Volunteers Service Centre, ensuring accurate onboarding, contract administration, benefits management and timely separation across multiple countries.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate processing of volunteer assignments from offer issuance through entry on duty and separation, including contract generation, benefits, and life‑event management.
• Validate pre‑assignment requirements such as personal data updates, mandatory courses, banking details and medical clearances.
• Administer contracts, payroll data, and benefits in compliance with UN Volunteers Conditions of Service, handling complex cases like evacuations and contract amendments.
• Maintain accurate records in corporate systems, support payroll administration, and ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.
• Coordinate with regional offices, field units and UN partners, provide guidance on policies, and monitor case progress to identify and resolve risks.
