Employment Counsel

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Employment Counsel to join indrive’s legal team in Kazakhstan. You will provide expert guidance on employment matters across the region, ensuring compliance with local, regional, and international labour regulations while supporting HR and management.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on hiring practices, contracts, terminations, benefits, policies and employee relations.
• Ensure compliance with Kazakh, MENA and applicable international employment laws.
• Draft, review and negotiate employment agreements, consultancy contracts and related documents.
• Manage employment disputes and coordinate litigation with external counsel.
• Develop and update internal policies in line with legal requirements and best practices.
• Deliver training and practical guidance to HR and management on compliance.
• Monitor legislative changes and assess business impact.
• Handle cross‑border employment issues, including expatriate and global mobility programmes.
• Advise on worker classification, especially in gig‑economy contexts.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from a reputable institution.
• Minimum 5 years of experience specializing in employment law.
• Strong knowledge of employment law in Kazakhstan and the MENA region; EU or international experience is a plus.
• Fluent Russian and excellent English communication skills.
