CSA Senior Engineer – Structural Analysis (Kazakhstan)

About the role

Wood, a global leader in consulting, engineering and operations for the energy and materials sectors, is seeking a CSA Senior Engineer to join its team in Tengiz, Kazakhstan. The role involves performing both computer‑aided and manual structural analysis and design of concrete and steel structures in line with RoK standards and Eurocodes.

Key responsibilities

• Perform computer‑aided and manual structural analysis, design, and calculation of all types of concrete and steel structures.
• Analyse and design concrete foundations for various buildings and structures.
• Attend meetings, communicate design requirements and optimisations with the CSA group and other disciplines.
• Review calculations and designs prepared by junior engineers, providing feedback and guidance.
• Prepare Basis of Design, Design Reports, FEED studies, Job Packs and Material Requisitions.
• Sign off drawings and key documents, produce CTRs, and conduct site surveys and inspections as required.
• Provide technical guidance to less experienced designers and engineers.
• Contribute to technical bids, evaluate vendor technical offers, and act as temporary line‑manager when needed.

Required profile

• Higher technical education in civil/structural engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in structural analysis and design.
• Proficient use of relevant structural analysis software and calculation templates.
• Professional knowledge of applicable codes and standards, especially Eurocodes.
• Demonstrated ability to apply advanced engineering principles to complex design challenges.

Required skills

• Structural analysis software (e.g., STAAD, SAP2000 or equivalent).
• Manual structural analysis techniques.
• Design calculation templates for concrete and steel structures.
