Lead On Site Services Specialist

About the role

As a Lead On Site Services Specialist within GE Vernova's Global Service Team for Power Transmission, you will drive the safe installation, commissioning and maintenance of high‑voltage AIS and GIS systems. You will act as the primary technical liaison for customers, ensuring projects meet the highest health, safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform installation and maintenance on power transformers, AIS circuit breakers, disconnectors and GIS switchgear in high‑ and medium‑voltage ranges.
• Oversee commissioning, testing and hand‑over of AIS and GIS equipment, adhering strictly to project specifications and manufacturer procedures.
• Serve as the main point of contact for customers on HV switching coordination and power control.
• Lead daily safety briefings and communicate test plans to all stakeholders.
• Manage site progress, produce daily reports and update project managers on schedule and cost.
• Identify potential cost overruns or deviations and support change‑order claims.
• Ensure all testing and safety equipment is calibrated, certified and fit for purpose.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems or a related field.
• Proven experience as an Installation & Commissioning Engineer in high‑ and medium‑voltage grid networks; site commissioning manager experience is a plus.
• Deep knowledge of power transformers, AIS circuit breakers, disconnectors and GIS switchgear.
• Strong command of MS Office; familiarity with MS Project is advantageous.
• Professional fluency in Kazakh and/or Russian and solid written/oral English.
• Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time, including remote and international locations.
• Valid driver’s license and practical driving experience.
