Product Legal Counsel

About the role

Higgsfield AI is seeking a Product Legal Counsel to embed within product, engineering, and growth teams. You will provide fast‑paced, pragmatic legal guidance that enables the company to ship innovative generative‑AI features while managing risk.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with product, engineering, and growth teams to review new features, models, and launches before release.
• Own and maintain user‑facing legal documents such as Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, community guidelines, and creator program terms.
• Advise on intellectual‑property issues specific to generative AI, including training data, model outputs, licensing, and copyright risk.
• Develop and refine content‑policy, trust & safety, and moderation processes, including DMCA takedown procedures.
• Ensure privacy and data‑protection compliance (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) and collaborate on privacy‑by‑design implementations.
• Monitor emerging AI regulations worldwide (e.g., EU AI Act) and translate them into concrete product requirements.
• Support commercial agreements with Fortune 500 clients, partners, and vendors.
• Manage outside counsel engagements and build scalable legal processes to accelerate product delivery.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with at least 6 years of experience, including significant time as product counsel or in a technology‑focused legal role.
• High agency and extreme ownership; proactively embeds with product teams.
• Ability to deliver risk‑calibrated advice quickly, matching product timelines.
• Genuine curiosity about generative AI and its evolving legal landscape.
• Strong skill in translating complex legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance for non‑legal stakeholders.
• Comfort operating in ambiguous situations and forming defensible positions where precedent is lacking.
