Lead Data Analytics and Visualization Engineer

About the role

EPAM is seeking a Lead Data Analytics and Visualization Engineer to shape how clients across finance, telecom, e‑commerce, media, insurance, oil & gas, and pharma collect, model, and visualise strategic data. The role combines hands‑on technical work with strategic leadership, mentoring a team of analysts and BI engineers while delivering executive‑level insights.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, mentor and inspire a team of data analysts and BI engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
• Partner directly with product owners and C‑level stakeholders to analyse business problems, gather requirements and deliver interactive demos.
• Design and build advanced dashboards and interactive reports using Power BI, Tableau or similar tools.
• Architect scalable dimensional data models (star and snowflake schemas) and central data‑warehouse solutions.
• Build, manage and optimise automated ETL pipelines, ensuring data quality and profiling with tools such as Apache Airflow.
• Implement security setups (row‑level security, workspace governance) and administer reporting environments.

Required profile

• 5+ years of hands‑on experience creating high‑performance BI dashboards and data models.
• 1+ years of proven experience leading or mentoring a data‑focused team in an Agile environment.
• Expert‑level SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS SQL Server) and columnar/cloud systems (ClickHouse, AWS Redshift).
• Strong understanding of modern data‑architecture concepts (DWH, Data Lakes, Lakehouses, Data Marts).
• Proficiency in Python (Pandas, NumPy) for data manipulation and analytics.
• Fluent English (Upper‑Intermediate or higher).
