Senior Engineering Manager – Protection & Control Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a senior engineering leader to drive the design, development and commissioning of protection, control and integrity schemes for electrical substations, power plants and industrial power systems. The role combines deep technical expertise in protection applications with project leadership, ensuring solutions meet customer requirements, standards and company practices.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering and technical execution of protection, control and integrity scheme projects for substations, power plants and industrial electrical systems.
• Define, develop and review protection and control applications in line with specifications, grid codes and company standards.
• Own technical design and configuration of busbar, line differential, transformer, generator/motor protection and automatic transfer/interlocking schemes.
• Design and review protection philosophies, control logic, interlocking and relay coordination studies.
• Configure, validate and test protection relays, control devices and communication interfaces.
• Plan and lead pre‑FAT, FAT, SAT and site commissioning activities.
• Act as primary technical contact for customers, consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Produce high‑quality engineering documentation, test procedures and as‑built files.
• Support tendering, sales and technical training for customers and internal teams.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and hotline support for service contracts.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading protection and control projects in substations or power plants.
• Strong technical leadership and ability to mentor engineering teams.
• Experience coordinating tendering, sales support and technical training.
• Excellent communication skills with customers, consultants and internal stakeholders.
