Screening Equipment Maintenance Lead Engineer

About the role

The Screening Equipment Maintenance Lead Engineer will oversee the performance, maintenance, and reliability of all security screening equipment at Almaty International Airport. This role ensures safe, efficient operation of critical systems while leading a team of technicians.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily performance of assigned staff and ensure proper execution of duties.
• Perform maintenance, diagnostics, repair, and commissioning of all department equipment.
• Develop and continuously improve repair and maintenance procedures.
• Prepare reports on completed work and analyse equipment reliability and failure rates.
• Monitor quality of work performed by third‑party service providers.
• Supervise shift teams and allocate production tasks.
• Prepare timely requests for materials, tools, spare parts and other required resources.

Required profile

• Higher or specialized technical education in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Automation, Instrumentation, Radio Engineering, IT or related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in maintenance, repair or commissioning of electrical/electronic equipment.
• Experience with security screening equipment is an advantage.
• Ability to conduct occupational health, fire and radiation safety briefings and complete required radiation safety training.
• Fluency in English, Kazakh and Russian.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PC, MS Office and Windows operating systems.
• Use of test and measurement equipment such as oscilloscopes and megohmmeters.
• Soldering and component‑level diagnostics.
• Troubleshooting of electronic boards.
• Reading and interpreting electrical schematics.
• Technical documentation preparation.
