Project Procurement Manager - Green-Field Plant

About the role

Sika, a specialty chemicals company active in the building and industrial manufacturing sectors, is hiring a Project Procurement Manager in Almaty for a new green-field production plant project. The role covers sourcing, vendor management and supply chain coordination, with a strong focus on civil construction expertise and local market knowledge.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with corporate colleagues and carry out procurement of civil construction materials and services, equipment, using deep knowledge of the local construction market
• Identify, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers and contractors, ensuring competitive pricing and compliance with project specifications
• Manage all procurement activities in SAP, including purchase orders, vendor master data and procurement documentation
• Align procurement timelines with project milestones and ensure on-time delivery of materials and services
• Monitor budget allocation and expenditure, report variances and implement cost optimisation measures
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, quality standards and health and safety requirements
• Maintain vendor relationships and performance records, and liaise with the logistics team and local authorities for import and delivery

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of procurement experience in green-field and/or brown-field industrial projects
• Knowledge of local regulations, quality standards and health and safety compliance
• Proven expertise in SAP systems, specifically SAP 4HANA (purchase orders, vendor master data)
• Intermediate English, able to communicate effectively in writing and verbally
• Preferred: experience with industrial or manufacturing projects in Kazakhstan, familiarity with customs procedures and import/export documentation, advanced SAP analytics and reporting, experience coordinating with logistics providers and local authorities, and direct procurement experience
