About the role
The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is seeking a Project Analyst to support its climate‑resilient development programme in Kazakhstan. The role will contribute to the implementation of the GEF Small Grants Programme and broader UNDP initiatives that translate national climate policies into concrete actions.
Key responsibilities
- Provide policy advice on climate change and disaster risk reduction (DRR) within the project context.
- Offer specialised knowledge and expertise to integrate climate and DRR policy into adaptation planning.
- Analyse existing climate and DRR policies, frameworks and regulations at national and sub‑national levels to identify opportunities, gaps and barriers.
- Support the design and implementation of small‑scale, high‑impact initiatives that generate environmental benefits and strengthen local livelihoods.
- Collaborate with national stakeholders, UN agencies and civil‑society organisations to ensure alignment with the Paris Agreement and SDGs.
Required profile
- Demonstrated experience in climate change and disaster risk reduction policy analysis.
- Familiarity with national and international climate frameworks, including the Paris Agreement.
- Ability to work with diverse partners and translate policy into actionable project components.
