Open-Rank Faculty Positions in Aerospace Engineering

About the role

Nazarbayev University's School of Engineering and Digital Sciences is recruiting two open-rank faculty members (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor) for the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering in Astana. The department is expanding its programmes and strengthening international industry collaboration, and is looking for outstanding candidates who can contribute to teaching and research in aerospace engineering and propulsion systems.

Required profile

• PhD in aerospace engineering from a reputable university, with a proven high-quality research track record and teaching experience matching the appointment rank.
• Demonstrated excellence in research, learning and teaching, and in external engagement.
• Sustained record of research or commercial funding and publications in internationally recognised Q1 journals, including those in the top 10% percentile.
• Willingness to work in a team on teaching and research in aerospace engineering and propulsion systems, with research interests that complement the department's strengths in aerospace propulsion, flight mechanics and aeroelasticity.
• Excellent communication skills and English fluency.
