Material Planner – Supply Chain Operations

About the role

Alstom is seeking a Material Planner to ensure seamless material flow for its production lines in Astana. You will be responsible for coordinating purchase requisitions, managing master data, and guaranteeing on‑time, in‑full deliveries that keep the rail transportation systems running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Manage purchase requisitions and create material planning documents for internal and external suppliers.
• Maintain accurate material planning master data while respecting stock and logistics constraints.
• Generate and update call‑offs, schedule agreements, source lists, and quota management records.
• Communicate delivery plans and purchase orders to suppliers, track confirmations, and analyse gaps.
• Identify risks, set recovery actions, and conduct regular performance reviews with suppliers.
• Handle MRP exception messages, anticipate supply issues, and resolve goods receipt discrepancies.
• Report OTIF results to suppliers and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Experience in supplier and customer relationship management.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively across procurement, operations, and design teams.

Required skills

• ERP experience (article configuration, order management).
• Understanding of ERP architecture components such as BOM and NCR.
