Finance Controller

About the role

Alstom is seeking a Finance Controller to join its Astana office and support the financial management of rail transportation projects. You will work closely with project managers and cross‑functional teams to ensure financial excellence and compliance across the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in overall project management alongside the Project Manager.
• Provide financial guidance and tutoring to project teams.
• Manage financial performance, including forecasting, reporting, and risk mitigation.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, governance, and international standards.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on financial negotiations.
• Drive cash‑flow optimisation and promote a cash‑focused culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in project finance or financial management, preferably in industrial or transportation sectors.
• Strong understanding of project lifecycle, cost control, risk assessment, and contract management.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder‑management abilities.
