Business Development Specialist – Mining & Minerals

About the role

Solenis is seeking an experienced Business Development Specialist to drive revenue growth and market expansion across Kazakhstan and the CIS in the mining and mineral‑processing sector. You will work closely with technical, operations and commercial teams to deliver sustainable, profitable growth for our water‑treatment and process‑aid solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute regional growth strategies aligned with Solenis objectives, targeting new business opportunities in mining and mineral processing.
• Build and maintain senior‑level relationships with mining operators, EPC contractors and key decision‑makers, expanding the company’s footprint through key‑account development and new‑client acquisition.
• Achieve annual revenue and profitability targets by delivering solution‑based selling, negotiating contracts, pricing and commercial agreements.
• Collaborate with technical teams to provide tailored process solutions, conduct audits, troubleshoot issues and optimise customer performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing or related field; advanced degree or MBA is a plus.
• 5–7+ years of experience in mining, mineral processing or related industrial sectors with a proven track record in business development or technical sales.
• Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Fluent English; Russian strongly preferred; Kazakh or other regional languages advantageous.

Required skills

• Technical understanding of mineral‑processing operations such as crushing, grinding, flotation, hydrometallurgy, water management and tailings handling.
• Knowledge of chemical/reagent applications for mining processes.
