Ballet Teacher

About the role

SABIS International School in Astana is looking for a Ballet Teacher within its Teaching & Academics department. The role supports student success and academic achievement through the SABIS curriculum, philosophy and teaching methodology, and involves delivering ballet lessons and supporting students.

Key responsibilities

• Teach using the provided lesson plans (and develop them from pacing charts where needed) so that the SABIS point system can be used in class.
• Discuss disciplinary and student performance issues with the Academic Quality Controller and the head of department.
• Implement the SABIS point system to create a conducive learning environment.
• Invigilate exams and support academically underperforming students.
• Help prepare students for external exams by working through past papers according to the revision schedule.
• Aid in duties such as testing children, substituting for absent teachers, organizing children for lunch and buses, traffic control and other administrative tasks assigned by school management.
• Take part in activity plans for events such as art, open house and physical education with the student life coordinator.
• Attend training sessions requested by school management and carry out other delegated tasks.

Required profile

• Certificate in the subject area to be taught.
• Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience.
• Expert, Researcher or Master classification preferred.
• Leadership and team management skills, interpersonal and communication skills, organizational and self-management skills, goal orientation, planning and execution skills, problem-solving ability and dependability.
• Meets country and local education and certification requirements, and passes reference and criminal background checks.
