About the role

The Lead Seismic Engineer will lead comprehensive analysis of geological and geophysical data, overseeing the processing and interpretation of seismic datasets for existing fields, adjacent areas, and new exploration projects. The role supports KMG’s strategy to stabilize and expand its resource base.

Key responsibilities

• Perform complex analysis of geological‑geophysical data and supervise seismic data processing.
• Conduct structural and quantitative seismic interpretation for operating fields and prospective acquisition areas.
• Lead seismic inversion, AVO analysis, and petro‑elastic modeling to evaluate lithology and fluid saturation scenarios.
• Control quality of work performed by external service providers and ensure compliance with project objectives.
• Prepare geological and geophysical reports, conclusions, and recommendations based on interpretation results.
• Integrate seismic data with well, geological, and reservoir information for comprehensive analysis.

Required profile

• Deep knowledge of seismic exploration, quantitative interpretation, and elastic property analysis.
• Experience with seismic inversion, AVO analysis, and seismic modeling.
• Understanding of data processing workflows and quality control of third‑party deliverables.
• Familiarity with the geology of Kazakhstan’s oil‑and‑gas basins.
• Basic knowledge of machine learning and neural networks applied to geophysical data.
