Software Engineer – Internal Tools & HR Automation

About the role

Join a fast‑growing fintech building a banking and lending platform across Southeast Asia. As a Software Engineer you will own the internal Frontline Employees Database that powers HR and operational processes for thousands of frontline staff.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain the Frontline Employees Database, integrating employee profiles, time‑off, shift planning and operational data.
• Create automation and integration workflows using n8n (or similar low‑code platforms).
• Develop and optimise PostgreSQL data structures for custom internal solutions.
• Build internal applications, forms and UI components in Retool.
• Integrate HR and enterprise systems (HiBob, Ashby, etc.) via REST APIs, webhooks, Python or JavaScript logic.
• Test, troubleshoot, document and provide internal support for existing tools (≈20% of time).
• Iterate MVPs into reliable internal products as requirements evolve.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with n8n, Make, or another low‑code automation platform.
• Strong SQL skills and ability to work independently with relational databases.
• Experience building internal apps with Retool or a comparable tool.
• Proficient in Python and/or JavaScript for scripting and automation.
• Good understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and integration patterns.
• Proactive, able to interpret incomplete requirements and make sound technical decisions; fluent English for collaboration with international stakeholders.
