Senior Data Engineer – ETL & Cloud Platform

About the role

We are looking for a technically‑minded engineer to manage and develop our ETL infrastructure. The role involves integrating new data sources, building real‑time pipelines, supporting teams with reverse ETL, and continuously improving data management processes.

Key responsibilities

• Integrate new sources using the existing batch ETL system.
• Create new real‑time pipelines using an infrastructure‑as‑code approach.
• Support teams in extracting data from the warehouse and implement reverse ETL processes.
• Participate in data management process improvement and propose new solutions.
• Automate processes and optimise pipeline performance.
• Lead long‑term improvement activities such as refactoring, cost‑reduction investigations and implementation.

Required profile

• Strong programming skills with experience in multiple languages, especially Python.
• Software design expertise, including design patterns and application architecture.
• Experience designing data systems or cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, message brokers, object storage, query engines).
• Advanced SQL abilities, including subqueries, window functions and CTEs.
• Warehouse and ETL system design experience.
• Knowledge of PySpark or other distributed computing frameworks.
• Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code tools such as AWS CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with the Databricks platform.
