Quality Assurance Supervisor

About the role

The Quality Assurance Supervisor will lead the QA department of an international pharmaceutical manufacturer, ensuring that all production processes comply with GMP, GDP and local regulatory requirements. This role is pivotal for maintaining product integrity, managing risk and supporting continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Organise the QA department’s activities and coordinate the enterprise quality system in line with GxP standards.
• Manage the risk‑management system and conduct risk assessments.
• Oversee supplier and distributor qualification, approval and audit procedures.
• Control product return and market‑recall processes.
• Participate in initiatives to minimise the risk of falsified medicines.
• Handle consumer complaints, investigate root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare management‑review analyses and ensure data‑integrity compliance.
• Lead preparation for GMP/GDP certification and re‑certification audits.
• Manage the QA team, develop job descriptions and recommend incentives or disciplinary actions.
• Ensure occupational safety, industrial hygiene and fire‑safety standards are met.
• Represent the quality department in internal meetings and external commissions.

Required profile

• University degree in pharmacy, chemistry or a related technical field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing, quality assurance or quality control.
• Strong knowledge of national and international regulations governing medicines, including GMP and GDP requirements of Kazakhstan and the EAEU.
• Understanding of manufacturing technologies and quality‑control processes.
• Proficiency with risk‑assessment tools and solid computer literacy.

Required skills

• Experience with statistical analysis software such as Minitab (preferred).
• Practical use of risk‑assessment methodologies.
