Program Implementation & Operations Support Intern

About the role

The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Astana is offering a six‑month, unpaid part‑time internship starting July 2026. The intern will support the Programme Office in implementing the UNODC Programme for Central Asia 2022‑2027 under the supervision of professional staff.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in organising meetings, events, conferences and side events to strengthen engagement with UN system partners.
• Support the drafting, processing and finalisation of training materials.
• Contribute to social‑media campaigns and the development of communication materials showcasing good practices and impact.
• Collect and input data on science, technology, innovation and sustainable development practices into databases.
• Conduct web research and provide analysis on relevant topics.
• Provide operational support in finance, procurement, human resources and general administration.
• Assist with archiving tasks, including preparation and registration of procurement documents.

Required profile

• Motivated individual able to work under supervision in a multicultural UN environment.
• Strong organisational, research and communication abilities.
• Interest in issues such as drugs, crime, corruption, terrorism and sustainable development.
