Marketplace Leader / Manager (Demand & Supply)

About the role

GSM Kazakhstan is seeking a Marketplace Leader to drive performance and optimization of its transportation platform. The role focuses on balancing driver supply and rider demand, improving operational efficiency, and supporting sustainable growth across the market.

Key responsibilities

• Lead marketplace optimization initiatives to maintain a healthy supply‑demand balance.
• Monitor and analyze metrics such as driver online rate, trip volume, fulfillment rate, rider wait time, and overall marketplace efficiency.
• Identify operational gaps and market trends through data analysis and propose actionable improvement plans.
• Collaborate with Operations to ensure sufficient driver supply during peak periods and strategic service areas.
• Design, execute, and evaluate driver incentive schemes and engagement programs to boost activation, retention, and utilization.
• Manage marketplace campaigns, surge strategies, and demand‑stimulation initiatives in partnership with Growth and Marketing teams.
• Support pricing and promotional strategies to enhance platform efficiency and user experience.
• Utilize analytical tools to detect anomalies, inefficiencies, and fraudulent activities, and work with Product and Data teams on anti‑fraud measures.
• Act as a key stakeholder in cross‑functional projects, providing expertise for process improvement and market expansion.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Data Analytics, Operations, or a related field.
• Proven experience in marketplace management, supply‑demand balancing, or similar roles within the transportation or mobility sector.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate data insights into strategic actions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills across Operations, Product, Growth, and Regional teams.
