Health and Safety Officer (Kazakhstan)

About the role

We are looking for a Health and Safety Officer to build the HSE function from the ground up for inVision’s staff and students in Kazakhstan. The role will ensure safe working conditions across academic buildings, laboratories, dormitories and off‑site events.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the HSE system, policies and procedures in line with the Kazakhstan Labor Code.
• Conduct workplace risk assessments, obtain SOUT certification and handle mandatory HSE reporting and inspections.
• Deliver safety trainings, inductions for employees and safety briefings for students in academic and laboratory spaces.
• Manage PPE issuance, usage monitoring and ensure proper supply.
• Perform regular safety audits of offices, academic buildings, labs and dormitories and resolve identified risks.
• Oversee fire safety compliance, evacuation plans and organise emergency drills.
• Coordinate facility operations and maintenance, including cleaning, engineering systems, repairs and consumable procurement.
• Handle vendor and contractor relations from scope definition and quoting to contracts, budget control and acceptance of work.

Required profile

• Higher education in a technical, engineering or occupational health and safety field.
• 3–5 years of HSE experience, preferably building an HSE function from scratch.
• Strong knowledge of Kazakhstan’s Labor Code, fire safety regulations and SOUT procedures.
• Relevant certifications: Kazakhstan “HSE Specialist”, fire‑technical minimum (PTM), first aid, civil defence and emergency response, electrical safety (or ability to obtain promptly).
