Flow Assurance Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Flow Assurance Engineer to support lead and senior process engineers in conceptual and basic design studies for oil & gas production, refinery, petrochemical and related process plants. The role involves technical support throughout detailed design, ensuring reliable flow of hydrocarbons and chemicals across the facility.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in conceptual studies and basic design of process plants, including heat and material balances.
• Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
• Define system design parameters, perform equipment sizing calculations for heat exchangers, vessels, pumps, reactors and instrumentation.
• Create and validate process simulation models using HYSYS, PIPEFLOW, PIPEPHASE, PIPESIM and FLARENET.
• Prepare cause‑and‑effect diagrams, SAFE charts, line lists and tie‑in schedules.
• Write design philosophies, operating and commissioning guidelines.
• Participate in safety reviews such as HAZOP and SIL studies.
• Resolve complex design conflicts and propose innovative engineering solutions.

Required profile

• Higher technical education (engineering degree) in chemical, petroleum or related discipline.
• Minimum three years of experience in process engineering for oil & gas, refinery or petrochemical projects.
• Proven ability to work under general supervision and deliver conventional engineering deliverables.

Required skills

• Process simulation tools: HYSYS, PIPEFLOW, PIPEPHASE, PIPESIM, FLARENET.
• Heat and material balance calculations.
• Development of PFDs and P&IDs.
• Equipment specification for heat exchangers, vessels, pumps and reactors.
• Safety analysis techniques: HAZOP, SIL, cause‑and‑effect diagrams, SAFE charts.
