Cashier-General

About the role

The Cashier-General is responsible for accurate financial record‑keeping and cash handling for a luxury hotel property. This position ensures compliance with internal SOPs and regulatory requirements while supporting the property’s financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
• Organise, secure, and maintain all files, records, cash and cash equivalents in accordance with policies.
• Record, store, access, and analyse computerized financial information.
• Classify, code, and summarise numerical and financial data using journals, ledgers, and computers.
• Complete period‑end closing procedures and reports as specified.
• Audit cashier banks periodically according to SOPs.
• Maintain, distribute, and record petty cash, cashier banks, and contracts.
• Document, maintain, communicate, and act upon all cash variances according to SOPs.
• Act as liaison between the property and armored‑car service or primary banking institution.
• Participate in internal, external, and regulatory audit processes and ensure compliance.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related work experience in cash handling or finance.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification required.
