Area Manager – Dark Store Operations

About the role

Glovo is looking for an Area Manager to lead one of its Dark Stores in Kazakhstan. You will be responsible for overseeing the pickers team, ensuring safe and efficient operations, and delivering a high‑quality grocery experience to customers.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure a safe work environment and compliance with health & safety standards.
• Review forecasts, set productivity targets and allocate labor to meet daily objectives.
• Identify, lead and implement process‑improvement initiatives.
• Balance labor resources while meeting production goals for the Dark Store.
• Train, coach, motivate and continuously evaluate picker performance.
• Coordinate order flow, manage physical and virtual workflows, and guarantee timely dispatch.
• Maintain tools and equipment, coordinating repairs or replacements as needed.
• Report and escalate systemic issues to management promptly.
• Update standard operating procedures according to Glovo best practices.
• Collaborate with HR, Category Management, Finance, Facility, Safety and LiveOps teams on cross‑functional projects.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of operations experience in retail, distribution or logistics.
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and drive performance.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the capacity to prioritize independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across all organization levels.
