Site Shipping Coordinator - OSHL Cargo

About the role

An experienced Site Shipping Coordinator is sought to lead shipping and customs operations for a large-scale project in Atyrau, Kazakhstan. The role covers logistics for Oversized Heavy Lift (OSHL) items, including components exceeding 500 tons, and coordinates final delivery and customs clearance across all disciplines involved.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate all shipping and customs activities at the site, including last-mile transport of OSHL cargo.
• Liaise with local freight forwarders, customs brokers and transport providers for timely, compliant delivery.
• Oversee documentation and clearance for international and domestic shipments.
• Manage road permits, civil works coordination and customs procedures with local authorities.
• Keep continuous contact with site teams (Construction, Material Receipt Control, Warehousing) and the Milano office (Logistics, Procurement, Post-Order).
• Ensure logistics follow project schedules and safety standards, and attend local meetings with authorities, preferably as local personnel.
• Monitor and report logistics KPIs, risks and mitigation strategies.

Required profile

• University degree in International Customs and Logistics Management.
• At least 15 years of relevant experience in construction of large oil and gas plants or EPC projects.
• Proven experience in shipping and customs coordination for major EPC projects, and familiarity with local transport regulations, customs laws and infrastructure coordination.
• Experience in Kazakhstan or a similar regulatory environment, and prior involvement in large-scale industrial or infrastructure projects.
• Fluent English is mandatory; Kazakh (preferably native) is a strong asset.
