Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer

About the role

We are seeking experienced Senior DevOps/Platform Engineers to join our client's Platform Operations & Engineering Team, implementing modernization initiatives for store Point of Sale (POS) systems across edge locations. The role offers flexibility to work remotely from Kazakhstan or from our offices in Astana, Almaty or Karaganda.

Key responsibilities

• Execute infrastructure enhancements across edge locations using Oracle Linux, Docker, Kubernetes (K8s/K3s), Helm, Kustomize, and Ansible.
• Deploy and maintain containerized applications in distributed edge computing environments.
• Implement infrastructure‑as‑code practices and ensure high availability of POS systems.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub, GitHub Actions, and ArgoCD.
• Implement automated testing, security scanning, and deployment processes.
• Manage GitOps workflows and optimise deployment efficiency.
• Deploy and configure FluentBit, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and Grafana for observability.
• Create dashboards, alerts and support incident response activities.
• Develop platform tools, scripts and automation to support development teams.
• Collaborate with architects and development teams in agile ceremonies.

Required profile

• 3+ years of hands‑on Linux administration (Oracle Linux preferred), Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, ArgoCD) and GitOps practices.
• Proficiency in observability tools such as FluentBit, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry and Grafana.
• Solid scripting skills in Bash and Python for automation.
• Understanding of edge computing, high‑availability and disaster‑recovery principles.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication and mentoring abilities in cross‑functional agile teams.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
