Senior Azure Data Platform & DevOps Engineer

About the role

EPAM is seeking a Senior Azure Data Platform & DevOps Engineer to design, build, and operate a robust Azure‑based data infrastructure. You will work remotely from Kazakhstan with the option to use our offices in Astana, Almaty, or Karaganda, collaborating with data engineering and platform teams to deliver secure and scalable solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and platform components using Azure Databricks, Event Hubs, MongoDB and Unity Catalog.
• Manage Azure Storage Accounts and lead cross‑region data migration projects, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
• Provision and manage cloud infrastructure as code with Terraform across Azure.
• Containerize workloads and orchestrate them with Docker and Azure Kubernetes Service.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Git, and implement GitOps deployments with ArgoCD.
• Set up observability and monitoring using New Relic.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure reliable delivery of data and infrastructure changes.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Platform or DevOps Engineer in cloud environments.
• Proven expertise with Azure Databricks, Event Hubs and Unity Catalog.
• Hands‑on experience with MongoDB and Azure Storage Account management.
• Demonstrated ability to execute cross‑region data migrations within Azure.
• Strong background in Terraform‑based infrastructure provisioning.
